Travelers are booking the experience.

Your property is only part of the trip.

Your rooms, amenities, architecture, and design show travelers where they'll stay.

But the mountains, trails, lakes, restaurants, attractions, and experiences surrounding your property help answer another important question:

Why should I go there?

Today's traveler isn't simply searching for a beautiful place to sleep. They're imagining the entire trip.

And your marketing should help them see it.

01 the data

Experiences are driving travel decisions.

The destination isn't background scenery. It's part of what you're selling. Source: Expedia Group, 2026

  • 90% of travelers plan to book activities or experiences during their trips in the next year.
  • 92% believe participating in local activities makes a trip more immersive.
  • 55% say having an authentic, immersive trip is more important to them now than it was five years ago.
02 what can be licensed?

Imagery that gives travelers a reason to go.

Depending on the destination, available imagery may include:

  • Landscapes + Scenery: Mountains, lakes, waterfalls, forests, beaches, desert landscapes and scenic overlooks.
  • Outdoor Recreation: Hiking, backpacking, paddling, skiing, camping and other destination-specific adventures.
  • Parks + Attractions: National parks, state parks, landmarks, scenic drives and recognizable points of interest.
  • Destination Details: Downtowns, architecture, streetscapes and visual details that establish a sense of place.

Questions

About Destination Image Licensing

WHAT IS DESTINATION IMAGE LICENSING?

Destination Image Licensing gives hospitality properties access to professional photography and video I've already created while traveling and working throughout North America.

Rather than commissioning a new destination shoot, you can license select imagery from my existing archive to showcase the landscapes, attractions and experiences surrounding your property.

HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU HAVE IMAGES FROM MY DESTINATION?

Send me your property location and I'll search my archive for imagery from your area and nearby attractions.

If imagery is available, I'll create a curated proof gallery so you can see your options before selecting a collection.

My archive is continually growing, so even if you don't see your destination featured on my website, it's always worth asking.

CAN I SEE THE IMAGES BEFORE I PURCHASE?

Absolutely. You'll receive a curated proof gallery of available imagery relevant to your property's location.

From there, you'll select the photographs or video clips you'd like to include in your collection.

WHAT TYPES OF IMAGES ARE AVAILABLE?

Availability varies by destination, but my archive includes imagery of mountains, lakes, waterfalls, national and state parks, hiking trails, scenic overlooks, outdoor recreation, downtown areas, architecture, local attractions and other experiences that help tell the story of a destination.

Some locations also include seasonal imagery and video.

CAN I USE THE IMAGES ON AIRBNB OR VRBO?

Yes. Standard hospitality licensing includes use on your property's website, direct-booking website, organic social media, email marketing and property-specific booking listings such as Airbnb and VRBO for the duration of your license.

DO I OWN THE IMAGES AFTER I LICENSE THEM?

No. Isa Outdoors Media retains copyright and ownership of all imagery.

Your licensing fee grants your property permission to use the selected imagery for the uses and duration outlined in your licensing agreement.

Think of it similarly to licensing music or other creative work: you're purchasing the right to commercially use the imagery rather than purchasing the copyright itself.

WILL OTHER PROPERTIES BE ABLE TO USE THE SAME IMAGES?

Standard Destination Image Licensing is non-exclusive, which allows me to license imagery from the archive to multiple businesses.

If having exclusive use of specific imagery is important to your property or campaign, exclusive licensing may be available and is quoted separately.

HOW LONG CAN I USE THE IMAGES?

Standard collections include a one-year commercial license for approved organic marketing uses.

Extended 5-year and perpetual licensing options are available if you'd like to continue using the imagery beyond the initial term.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY LICENSE EXPIRES?

You can simply renew or extend your license if you'd like to continue using the imagery.

Your original files don't need to be recreated or redelivered—the licensing period is simply extended based on the terms selected.

CAN I USE THE IMAGES IN PAID ADS?

Paid advertising is not included in the standard organic license.

If you'd like to use an image or video in boosted social posts, Meta ads, Google ads, display advertising or another paid campaign, paid advertising rights can be added to your license.

CAN MY PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY USE THE IMAGES FOR MULTIPLE PROPERTIES?

Standard licensing covers one hospitality property/business.

If you manage multiple properties within the same destination, portfolio licensing is available. I'll create a custom license based on the number of properties and intended usage.

CAN I SHARE THE IMAGES WITH TOURISM BOARDS, LOCAL BUSINESSES OR OTHER PARTNERS?

Not under a standard property license.

Licensing is granted specifically to the business named in the agreement and cannot be transferred, sublicensed or distributed to another business for its own marketing.

If another organization would like to use an image, I'm happy to arrange a separate license directly with them.

WHAT IF I NEED IMAGERY OF AN EXPERIENCE YOU HAVEN'T PHOTOGRAPHED?

If the imagery you need isn't currently available in my archive, we can discuss commissioning a custom destination shoot.

This is also a great option for properties that want highly specific seasonal experiences, attractions or activities documented exclusively for their marketing needs.

CAN I COMBINE DESTINATION IMAGERY WITH A PROPERTY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?

Yes—and this is one of the best ways to build a complete visual library.

Your property photography shows travelers where they'll stay. Lifestyle imagery shows them what the stay feels like. Destination imagery shows them why they'll make the trip.

Existing destination imagery can be added to a Hospitality Storytelling project whenever relevant archive content is available.

IS THIS STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY?

Not in the traditional sense.

This isn't a massive generic stock library. It's a curated archive of professional destination imagery I've personally photographed while traveling, exploring and working throughout North America.

When you inquire, I curate imagery specifically around your property's location and the experiences your guests are likely traveling there to enjoy.

How long does a project take?

Six to eight weeks for a full identity, three for strategy alone. We agree the dates before we start and we do not move them.

WHAT IF MY PROPERTY ISN'T LOCATED DIRECTLY AT THE PLACE SHOWN?

That's completely normal. Destination imagery is designed to showcase relevant experiences and attractions guests can reasonably access while staying at your property.

I recommend clearly identifying locations and avoiding language that could imply an attraction or view is located directly on the property when it isn't.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

Send me your property's location along with any nearby destinations, attractions or experiences you'd especially like to highlight.

I'll search the Isa Outdoors Media archive and let you know what's currently available.
